With high ceilings and spaces which feel luxurious there is simply something that draws us towards the vast expanse of space and the warmth offered by listing buildings such as converted barns and farmhouses, often because of their idyllic rural locations.

Delta Registered Installers, Tywi Damp Proofing were commissioned with the sympathetic conversion of an old farmhouse located in Chepstow. The project scope was to convert 1 listed farmhouse into 5 separate dwellings.

The scope of the project was to facilitate a solution for a damp, salt and mould covered lightwell wall, which was impacting negatively on staff who thought their office views were unsightly and unhygienic.

After many years of the medical facility seeking to remedy the problem by repainting the wall, continuous maintenance issues due to water staining, salt patches and algae growth lingered.

The Old Parsonage had dilapidated to a state of disrepair by 2013, with substantial external building detailing and roofing damage. Defects combined with a lack of occupancy lead to damp and fungus infested internal conditions which rendered the building unusable.
